Feb. 7th - Roanoke City Jam PDF Print E-mail

This coming Saturday Feb. 7th the Roanoke scene is holding a city jam starting at 2PM. The Virginia Tech contingency will be joining as well, so it ought to be a fun-packed jam.  Here's the words from Chris Kessler himself:

We will be meeting in front of the Virginia Heights Baptist Church (there is a huge cement circle in front of it) at 2:00 P.M. From there we will commence ridiculousness and merriment and, oh yes, some jamming as well.

The address is 2014 Memorial Ave SWRoanokeVA

There is a huge parking lot behind the Natural Foods Co-Op which is right next to the church.

We will be moving to a few spots throughout the afternoon, and there will be fun times for all!

NOVA in Rockville, MD - Xtreme Acro PDF Print E-mail

Every so often, it's nice to reach out and meet up with other communities nearby.  Now, we have the statewide jams that allow us to meet with PKVA subcommunities.  And this can draw others like in Blacksburg in December when NCParkour came out to join us.  Last Friday, three of us from northern Virginia travelled up to Rockville, MD to train at Xtreme Acro and Cheer with some of the DC and MD traceurs.  We will be doing this again tomorrow night (Jan 30th) before we start going to a more local gym.  Those who have the time to join us should come to 30 Southlawn Court East in Rockville between 7:45 and 10:45PM.  The cost is $15 for the three hours and it should be a lot of fun.

Anyone who needs a ride should contact Animus at 5 71 45 1 4580.  The session will start with Animus leading a warm-up and light conditioning before opening it up to free time and instruction.

Rock climbing is an excellent supplement to your parkour training. It helps build strength all around your body, but especially grip and upper body. It also challenges you to think creatively and push forward to find new paths. If you're up near Alexandria, VA you should check out SportRock for indoor rock climbing as the weather gets colder :)
